Tell us a little about your piece?
I started off with a brainstorm for words beginning with letter R. My chosen keywords were rhythm, repetition, reverse. I tried to incorporate these using my personal handwriting of playing with the transition between 2D and 3D. I especially love the simplicity of how the reverse letter R turns out to be three-dimensional shape.
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
Using three such strong, vibrant colours at the same time was definitely a challenge for me as I am usually a monochromatic person. By the end I grew to like this dynamic effect of these clashing colours.
What part of the brief did you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed being completely free in what to create, as usually in my commissions I have to reflect some elements of the represented brand itself.
How did you enjoy working with Senses Paper?
They were lovely to work with, strong, clean colours, with great structure no tearing which is important when cutting such intricate shapes.
