Mistletoe of Gold
Tell us a little about your piece?
This years Christmas Spirit felt like it needed to be different to usual, so I looked to the tradition of Winter Solstice. Celebrating coming through the darkness of winter, to the beginning of brighter days ahead. Mistletoe is historically a symbol of love, friendship and goodwill, as well as being believed to protect against storms and evil. All of which I feel we need a little of to see us through the end of 2020, looking through to the golden brightness on the otherside.
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
Coming up with something to make that represented spirit and hope right now when we are apart.
What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?
Working in alternative colours, I am usually very literal with colour palettes to be realistic.
How did you enjoy working with the paper sent?
It's beautiful paper, great colour and textures.
