Tell us about your piece and how it represents the Country that you are from?

A 3D monochrome representation of the Art Deco building of Paris Court, in the heart of Budapest. This building, built in the early 20th century was one of the first shopping malls of the city, the only one that has still survived. Although it has survived the 2nd World War, it fell into disrepair, along with many of Budapest’s magnificent Art Deco and Art Nouveau buildings over the years. Luckily these buildings are now being restored, giving the city back its rich architectural heritage.

What was the most challenging part of the brief?

Selecting which of the beautiful buildings of Budapest should I build for the project.

What part of the brief did you enjoy the most?

Although I love the research stage of a work, as during this phase I learn a lot not only about the structure of the building, but also its history, the most satisfying part is to see the building come to life, translating the fascinating details into a monochrome paper model.

How did you enjoy working with Excel Blades?

I’ve always preferred rounded scalpel handles, so I was happy to experiment with Excel blades. I find the blade holder a great accessory, as make replacing and storing the used blades easy.
